ABOUT THE ARTISTS

1st place winner: Mary-Anne Murphy (drawing)
http://www.unitedcreators.com/Mary-AnneMurphy/
Ms. Murphy, a native of Ontario, creates intimate, sensitive and
detailed portraiture and landscapes rendered photo-realistically in
charcoal and graphite.

2nd place winner: Robin Antar (sculpture)
http://www.unitedcreators.com/RobinAntar/
A Brooklyn-based sculptor, Ms. Antar replicates meticulously to scale
everyday objects (shoes, clothing and candy) in carved stone.  The
result is a staggering and challenging trompe l'oeil for the viewer:
is it a sculpture or is it the real thing?

3rd place winner: Fabrice Covelli (sculpture/installation)
http://www.unitedcreators.com/fabricecovelli/
Mr. Covelli, a French artist and furniture designer residing in
Brooklyn, produces highly conceptual sculptures and installations of
various diverse media addressing themes of both personal and
universally-shared emotions and our responsibility to the earth.

4th place honorable mention winner: Pascal (sculpture)
http://www.unitedcreators.com/PascalPierme/
Santa Fe-based French sculptor, Pascal, works with wood that he
manipulates and forms into sleek large scale sculptures and
installations.  Often treated to resemble metals such as aged bronze,
Pascal's abstract sculptures balance geometric abstraction with
organic forms.

5th place honorable mention winner: Charles Grogg (photography)
http://www.unitedcreators.com/CharlesGrogg/
Charles Grogg, based in Ojai, captures the beauty, poetry and
sensuality of floral forms through exquisite and intimate black and
white and sepia-tinted photography.
